Jennifer Flaig, MS – Manager, Training
In 2002, Ms. Flaig came to Fields as a Staff Industrial Psychologist where she was involved in every aspect of the assessment center process, including job analyses, exercise development, content-oriented validity studies, and test administration. In 2006, she became a Project Manager, working with staff to continue to produce high-quality work in test development, validation, and administration. Currently, Ms. Flaig is Manager of Training at Fields. In this position, Ms. Flaig supervises and conducts training and development programs for Fields clients, as well as internally for Fields staff. She uses methods such as classroom learning, on-the-job training, meetings, workshops, and demonstrations, along with tools such as training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other materials to keep trainees engaged. Ms. Flaig is a member of the Personnel Testing Council of Metropolitan Washington and has recently been an instructor for the Resource Management class in George Washington University’s Police Science Program. The program is designed for students with full-time jobs in law enforcement seeking to pursue their undergraduate degrees. In addition to classroom sessions, Ms. Flaig also teaches this course online to students across the country and internationally.
Don Owens – Director, Grants and Contracting
Mr. Owens has been with Fields Consulting Group since 2006 and currently directs all of Fields’ grant writing and administration programs. He brings more than 16 years worth of experience in researching, writing and administering state, federal and foundation grants. Much of that experience was concentrated in public safety/emergency management grants. Mr. Owens has assisted clients utilizing Fields’ grants services benefit from multiple millions of dollars in grant funding. Mr. Owens was a founding member of the Fairfax County Government Emergency Management Grant Coordinator’s Committee, which applied for and had oversight of homeland security related grant programs with multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional and National Capital Region impact. He was a key member of the team charged with obtaining more than $10.5 million over a two-year period for replacement of biometric systems for the National Capital Region and has successfully acquired funding for more than 96 percent of grant applications submitted.
Mike Roth – Manager, Operations
Mr. Roth graduated with a degree in Communications and began working for Fields in the mid-1990’s as a part-time test administrator. It was so much fun that he became a full time employee in 1998. In his early life with Fields as a personnel analyst, Mr. Roth spent time in the trenches assisting in the development and administration of assessment centers and other testing projects. Over the years as Fields client list and scope of work expanded, Mr. Roth became more necessary and valuable behind the scenes, helping to ensure that Fields’ growing staff was equipped with the tools and support necessary to produce our high-quality work. As Manager of Operations, Mr. Roth acts as part of the quality control cycle for Fields products. He also continues to maintain the company’s facilities as a productive work environment and acts to support the staff as needed in the office or on the job site.
