Dr. Cassi Fields is a nationally known expert in the design, development, validation, and administration of public safety testing projects, with special expertise in assisting departments that have been accused of bias in their personnel practices. Dr. Fields, who received her Ph.D. in Industrial Psychology from the George Washington University, founded Fields Consulting Group, Inc. in 1992. Fields Consulting Group’s client list has since grown to include a large number of public safety agencies in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, other major municipalities scattered across the United States, and several federal agencies.
Dr. Fields serves as personal advisor to many public safety executives in the United States regarding all areas of human resource and organizational management. Dr. Fields was selected in 2006 by the President of IACP to serve (and still serves) on IACP’s Diversity Panel. She routinely presents at CALEA, IACP and other professional public safety organizations as requested.
Dr. Fields is an active member of the professional community, recently serving in the prestigious position of President of the Personnel Testing Council (PTC) of Metropolitan Washington. She is currently the Past President and legal chair of PTC, as well as a member of the American Psychological Association and the Society of Industrial Organizational Psychology.
Dr. Fields is an active member of the Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Virginia Public Safety Foundation where she assisted in raising over $38,000 in 2011 for families of loved ones who died in the line of duty.
